The city of Kastela is actually an agglomeration of seven smaller towns along the coast just north of Split, each being named Kastel with an additional attribute (Kastel means, of course, castle or fort, Kastela is the plural form). Seven nice old places, seven citadels (Kastela - in English: Citadels), are an integral part of the tourist area between Split and Trogir.
